Individual Therapy

I have experience in individual counseling with children, teens, and adults. My primary focus for our individual work is to provide you with one hour per week when you can be completely relaxed and yourself. I prioritize providing warmth, open-mindedness, and welcoming energy to my sessions.

Couples Therapy

Our relationships with others are central to our human experience. My goal for couples' sessions is to explore, acknowledge, and better understand our partners in order to feel more connected and in sync. I primarily utilize the Gottman Method and Attachment Theory in my work with couples.

Family Therapy

Our families of origin have the potential to influence every aspect of our lives and wellbeing. I believe that an individual struggles immensely to thrive if the system that they are a part of isn't thriving. My work with families in the past has included parent-child dyads, sibling dyads, and work with divorce and step-parent transitions.

My Approach

To our sessions, I bring years of training and work with clinicians who use a vast array of approaches to treat a diverse set of challenges. I studied Psychology at Vanderbilt University, which is primarily a research institution, where I learned about the value of data to measure the efficacy of a therapeutic intervention. I earned my Masters in Applied Psychology from New York University, which enhanced my understanding of the importance of acknowledging systems and culture at play in the therapy room. I spent my early years as a clinician working with clients ages 3 - 73 who had in some way been affected by the foster care system. This work across the lifespan has only fostered my fascination in the human experience, and how to appreciate it and enjoy it in the face of adversity.

Research shows that the most accurate measure of therapy's efficacy is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. With this in mind, our relationship with one another will always be my top priority. In addition to this, I feel most comfortable using evidence-based approaches such as humanistic, cognitive behavioral, and attachment-based theories to inform our work together. I am always delighted to share more about my background and theoretical approach during our consultation call.
